ITINERARY
DAY 1 – 17APR: ARRIVAL IN AYACUCHO AND HISTORICAL CITY TOUR
Arrival in the city of Ayacucho on a flight operated by Sky Peru. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the selected hotel. You will have free time for lunch at your own expense. In the afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., we will begin a guided tour of the Colonial Historic Center, starting with a visit to the Arc de Triomphe, one of the most emblematic monuments of the city, a symbol of independence. We will continue to the Andrés A. Cáceres Museum, where we will learn more about local history and culture, and walk through the picturesque streets of Huamanga. Afterwards, we will enter the Temple of Santa Teresa, famous for the products handcrafted by the local nuns. We will finish with the traditional circuit of the Seven Temples, a unique experience to admire the religious architecture and spirituality of Ayacucho. At the end of the tour, return to the hotel to rest.
DAY 2 – 18 APR: ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX OF WARI AND PAMPAS DE QUINUA
After breakfast at the hotel, we will begin an excursion to the Archaeological Complex of Wari, the ancient capital of the first Andean empire (Pre-Inca). During the visit, we will explore the Site Museum, the Templo Mayor, and the areas of Monjachayuq and Cheqowasi. Then, we will head to the charming town of Quinua, known for its ceramic tradition. Just one kilometer from Quinua, we will visit the Historical Sanctuary of the Pampa de Ayacucho, the scene of the emblematic Battle of Ayacucho that sealed the independence of Peru and America. At the end, we will return to the hotel to rest.
DAY 3 – APR 19: FREE DAY AND HOLY WEEK CELEBRATIONS
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will have the day free for personal activities. In the morning, you can enjoy the colorful parades and festivities of the traditional Easter Bull, which combine music, joy and local culture. In the evening, we recommend witnessing the ceremonies at the "Cuatro Esquinas" in the Plaza de Armas, where you can enjoy typical dances, burning of castles and other cultural activities that mark the essence of Holy Week in Ayacucho. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4 – 20 APR: PROCESSION OF THE RISEN CHRIST AND RETURN TO LIMA
At 5:00 a.m., we will begin the Procession of the Risen Christ, a majestic and emblematic event of Holy Week in Ayacucho. The procession is notable for the illuminated float with hundreds of lit candles, an unforgettable spiritual and visual spectacle. Afterwards, you will return to the hotel to enjoy breakfast. You will have the morning free to explore the city at your own pace before being transferred to the airport to board your return flight to Lima. End of our services..
