MAGIC OF SICILY SPRING – SUMMER 2025 FROM CATANIA

Day 1:

Arrival in Catania and meet at the hotel (check-in starts at 4:00 p.m.). Before dinner, you meet with your guide and have a presentation of the tour. Dinner and hotel stay in the Catania, Giardini Naxos, or surrounding area.

Day 2:

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the historic center (Ortigia) with the Temple of Minerva and the Arethusa Fountain. The archaeological area with the Greek Theater, the Roman Amphitheater, the Latomie and the Ear of Dionysus. Lunch during the excursion. In the afternoon, walk through Noto, an authentic jewel of Sicilian baroque architecture. Return to the hotel in the Catania, Giardini Naxos or surrounding area and enjoy dinner.

Day 3:

Breakfast at the hotel. Next, depart to Giarre to visit the Radicepura Botanical Park, which extends over an area of ​​5 hectares and preserves more than 3,000 plants. Then depart to Catania and walk through the historic center. Enjoy a small snack on the streets of Catania [depending on the season, it could be an “arancina” (fried rice ball typical of the area), an ice cream, a granita, etc.]. Lunch. Departure to the western area, accommodation in a hotel in the Palermo area or surroundings and have dinner.

Day 4:

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Monreale, visit the Cathedral and the Benedictine Cloister. Return to Palermo and have a walking tour of the historic center featuring the Palermo Cathedral, the “Four Canti”, and Pretoria Square with the famous “Fountain of Shame”. Visit one of the many historic residences of former local nobility that have been sources of inspiration for many films of national and international renown. Departure to Cefalù, lunch during the excursion while visiting this famous and beautiful coastal town. Free time and then return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5:

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Erice*, orientation tour of the town and small tasting of typical almond sweets. (Note: if it is not possible to reach the town of Erice due to road closures, a visit to Trapani will be done instead). Continuation to Marsala and visit a winery with a small tasting. Lunch during the excursion and in the afternoon there will be a visit to the eastern hill of Selinunte. Continuation to Agrigento, accommodation at the hotel in Agrigento or surrounding area and dinner. After dinner, departure by coach to enjoy the views of the illuminated Valley of the Temples.

Day 6:

Breakfast at the hotel and visit the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. Then departure to Piazza Armerina and “Ancient Rome” themed lunch during the excursion. Visit to the Roman Villa called “Del Casale” famous for its mosaics. Then, departure to the eastern part of the island and accommodation in the Catania area, Giardini Naxos or surroundings. Dinner at the hotel

Day 7:

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Etna in a coach to climb to 1900 mt.** From that point there is the option to ascend further (with direct payment supplement) by all-terrain bus and authorized guide to visit the main craters. Small tasting of local honey and lunch during the excursion. (**in the case of adverse weather conditions, we will climb to a height of 700 meters and we will stop at Zafferana Etnea where you can see the remains of the 1992 eruption).  In the afternoon visit  Taormina and its Ancient Theater. Free time.  Return to the hotel in the Catania area, Giardini Naxos or surroundings and dinner.

Day 8:

Breakfast at the hotel and the end of our services.
